Brigid’s CPR & Choking class

Thanks so much to Natalie (& Jessica!) for coming along to train us in Infant CPR. We learned lifesaving techniques and practiced our skills on the dummies. Thanks also to Brigid for your amazing spread of homemade baking and for hosting the group this week.  It was also wonderful to have Gerd and Astrid back after their long trip away.  Congratulations to Pam for finally getting Georgie to take a bottle!

Next Get-together
Mum’s Monday Walk:
Rabbit Island (park at Nelson end)
10am Monday 31 July
Adrienne: 021.480.212

We will walk Mel’s normal route – parking at the Nelson end of the tracks and walking for 20-30 minutes on the tracks and then coming back via the beach.  Bring buggies!  If you arrive later than 10.10am – try and catch up to us!

Future meetings are planned including a walk along the river and coffee at Kafiene now that it’s open on Mondays - Pam is going to arrange that one.  We will meet sometime in September at Whitnie & Ayla’s new house…. if you didn’t already know, Whitnie is now living in Hope. We are looking for ideas or hosts for 7 & 14 of August.

If you have an interesting idea for an outing somewhere baby-friendly – let Adrienne know. You may check ahead on the schedule by selecting the “Schedule” button on the menu above. Volunteer to host by sending email to Adrienne.

Lorene’s House

We had a fabulous time at Lorene’s house - her unique catering style always impresses us!  Lots of talk about when our next round of babies should arrive – how exciting!  Don’t forget our Parent’s Centre Monday Night Class Reunion Dinner at Trailways this Saturday 22nd July at 7.30pm. They have a great mid-winter Christmas menu: 2 course dinner for $31.00 and 3 course dinner for $36.00 (approx).  Contact Lorene (lorene05@hotmail.com) for more information or to sign up.

Thanks to Brigid for arranging this weeks Infant CPR & Choking class after our Parent’s Centre one fell through. Natalie will be taking the class and then Brigid suggests people can bring buggies and/or front packs so if the weather’s fine we could do a bush walk after the class. Please also bring a gold coin donation as she would like to get Natalie a petrol voucher for her time and effort. It will be very causal with coffee and cake (maybe, if you’re lucky) provided!

Infant CPR & Choking Class:
Brigid’s Parents House

Jill’s House

A very sad farewell to Jill & Luke - we’ve grown very fond of them and will miss them when they move to Auckland this weekend.  Jill mentioned she will keep up-to-date with our progress on this website and will send us a photo of Luke now and then to post an update.  Thanks for the lovely welcome and hosting at Jill’s home – the music was really fun and certainly got the babies singing!  I don’t think I’ve heard them all so vocal at Mum’s group – Ayla’s squeals of delight during the Hokey Tokey were classic!

Small Groups

The girls all got together at Melissa’s house and had a good play in front of the fire. Melissa’s mega-carrot cake was delicious and the view from her living room was well worth the walk up the hill!

The boys had a more energetic time with a walk along the beach and then cake at Julie’s house in Ruby Bay.

This week we are going to have some musical fun at Jill’s house in Nelson. This will be her and Luke’s last Mum’s group get-together before they leave Nelson for Auckland! Bring along a CD of your wee one’s favourite song – or be prepared to sing it yourself…. we will go around the circle and do some singing and actions before we have a cuppa.
