What a dedicated group of Mums we have – willing to walk all over this city week after week… or perhaps it’s the cafe treats that we are addicted to (Brigid)! We power-walked the sunny river track whilst power-talking then spent the morning at Kaffine where we met up with more of our group. Thanks to Pam for planning the river walk and keeping us all fit.

The pouring rain always puts a damper on the will to travel but we still had a fun time with a small turnout. The facility was actually really, really good for the kids and the kitchen was well stocked and clean. Having a change table and a child-proofed room was really helpful and we’ll remember this venue for when the kids are walking around. The president of Richmond Plunket wanted us to know they have allocated funding for a toddler playground outside to complement the adventure playground they already have.

Pam has kindly arranged this weeks get-together. Meet at Trafalgar Centre Carpark (free parking) – entrance from Paru Paru Rd. From there we will follow the river path upto the Library, cut through the Library and cross Trafalgar St at the lights. Then continue along the river path behind Oasis Cafe up to Hardy St. From there we will walk down Hardy St and through the Queens Gardens to Bridge St, down to Collingwood St and into New St ending at Kafiene Cafe for coffee, nappy change, bottles etc at approx 10.40. See you there!

What an amazing place we live in – the ocean was outstanding on our walk in the winter sunshine after a day of crisp rain on Sunday. Thanks to Mel for leading us and showing us the secret back paths to the beach. We walked for a good hour and 20 minutes and kept up a brisk pace – then went for coffee at Grape Escape.

This Monday we are meeting at the Richmond Plunket Rooms where we will have playgroup for the kids…. Bring an activity or toy that will captivate and astound the other kiddies and Adrienne will provide tea/coffee & cake/nibbles. I would also like to start taking some photos of Mum & Baby in preparation for Father’s Day (this is entirely optional!). If you like the shot, we can arrange to take it to the chemist and print it for Dad – then you can put it in a frame or make your card with the photo glued inside. We can do this for a couple more weeks and post the best ones on the website too.
