Buggy Running

On Saturday 7th October at 12.45pm there is a buggy running race at the ASB Bank Aquatic Centre to promote the piggyback programme as part of the Action Expo.  It is also the Pool’s 2nd birthday party so there is free swimming all day.
It’s $5.00 to enter and the proceeds go to Plunket so a great cause to support.
There will be great spot prizes but only for buggys with a baby in it!!  The run is only a few kms but all the same I have nominated Dave rather than myself!
Hope to see some of you there to join in the fun and support a good cause.
Regards Nicky McLeod

Julie’s House

Thanks to Julie for a fun Monday last week – everyone went walking down the river and around Queen’s Gardens – a cloudy but warm morning.  Then back to Julie’s for muffins, savouries, coffees and teas.  The babies had a play in the execsaucer and Ayla showed off how she can crawl.  Poppy wasn’t able to come because of her chicken pox – which turned out to NOT be chicken pox but some other general virus with spots going around at the moment.  She is looking forward to seeing everyone at Harvey’s house – the last time we’ll be visiting because the house is sold!

Melonie’s house in Hope
Directions: Coming from Richmond, just before the 100km sign (on Main Road), turn right into the carpark for Place for Plants and Hope Gardens. OK to park in the carpark. Come in through the gate on the right hand side of the Hope Gardens shop. Grant will put the two large (but friendly) dogs in the paddock so you’ll hear them bark but they won’t come running! Come into our driveway and the house is on the right.

Whitnie’s house

What a great new house, Whitnie!  Congratulations on a wonderful find.  Plenty of room for us all to play with Ayla’s toys…. it’s amazing how far we can spread them.  Whitnie put on an amazing spread and Ayla showed us her motorbike riding skills….

Gerd’s house

Thanks to Gerd for a relaxing sunny walk down the river and then a playful and yummy morning tea back at her house.  The kids decided they would challenge each other for Poppy’s dog toy ball….. it’s so much fun watching their thought processes and subsequent actions. Thanks for sharing your toys Astrid!

Adrienne’s farm

Poppy brought all her toys to the farm for everyone to play with – and we started a band!  Chloe on the piano and Harvey on the guitar – now we need a drummer and some back-up singers.  We fed the chickens and felt their soft feathers.  Poppy was wearing her frilly bloomers so she was given the cutest outfit award today.

Gerd suggests we go for a walk on Monday morning starting from her place (71B Bronte St. East) at about 10.15. We will go along the Brook and join the Maitai at Nile street and keep going along the river to the Riverside pool. Turn around and then morning tea at Gerd’s place (at about 11am).
Directions: Most people have been to my place before. Directions: Drive along Tasman St. towards the Brook. We are the second street on your left after crossing Nile street. It is a no exit street. Just park on the street and walk down the driveway. We are the second house on your left. Do not get tempted to drive down Bronte St. Bronte St. and Bronte St. East are only connected by a walking bridge. If it is raining we will just cancel the walk.

Rochelle’s House

Thanks to Rochelle for another fun playgroup meeting at her house.

This Monday you are invited to Adrienne’s parent’s (GranJan & Yogi’s) farm in Appleby.  Bring old shoes so we can walk down to the chickens and feed them around the babies – Poppy is fascinated by them.  All the ewes are heavy with lambs – it might bring back memories!  Remember, GranJan is the YoYo Nappy lady so if you have questions about cloth nappies or wish to order any while you are there – she will be happy to assist.
