Mel & Grant have done an amazing job with their beautiful outdoor space and the kids had a great time…. Who wouldn’t want to be naked under a sprinkler at this time of year?
We are finally attempting to visit Natureland next week! Bring $5 entry and Adrienne will bring some rice bubbles.
For the Christmas party, Santa will be making an appearance around 11am so please wrap and name an inexpensive gift for your child/ren and sneak it into Adrienne’s car when you arrive. Santa will call out names but he won’t have his reading glasses so please make it really big & clear!!! Also don’t forget we are having a bouncy castle and will be asking for donations to assist with the hiring fee. Thanks to Whitnie for organising this and to Dan for providing the generator and diesel. There is an on-site BBQ on our site that we will crank up (after Santa leaves) with some collected wood if you’d like to bring meat to cook. There is a picnic table under the shadecloth – bring chairs, picnic blanklets & shade tents if you have them. The guest list is shaping up into a great variation of wee ones and wrinklies – if you need more invitations, please let Adrienne know. We also invited Carla and Heidi (who has just had another wee girl), our Ante-Natal Class hostesses.

If you want to meet up with other Hips & Lips members at the 12noon Christmas Parade down Queen Street, Richmond tomorrow (Sat, 24 November) – we’ll be situated in the same place as last year – outside Smith’s City area.Â

Congratulations to Lorene, Brad and Chloe! Max William Wallace was born at 4.30pm yesterday (14/11/2007) weighing 3kg. We can’t wait to get to know wee Max and look forward to Lorene being back in the swing of things on Monday mornings. Jester House was a fantastic suggestion – the atmosphere was so relaxing and sunny and the kids loved the eels! Thanks to our fearless eel-whisperer (Nadine), we didn’t lose anything in the water.
Next week we are meeting at Rochelle’s house in Stoke. Generally we have a great turnout whenever we go to Rochelle’s – could be the central location – more likely the yummy baking! Whitnie and Adrienne will hand out Christmas invitations for you and any grandparents interested in joining us. You can mail the invitation as a postcard to those grandparents out of town so they know they are invited. If you can’t make it on Monday – please call Adrienne 544-2088 if you live in Tasman or Whitnie 538-0088 if you live in Nelson and we’ll arrange to drop off or pick up your invitations.

If everyone could bring a plate of nibbles we could snack from 11am onwards. Bring togs for adults and kids for a swim if it’s fine (swim naps preferable; don’t want Grant having to scoop the poop!). Would cancel if it’s raining, cold, or blowing a gale as inside not a great space for a crowd right now!
Our Nov/Dec schedule will tentatively be: 26 Nov – Mel’s House (Mapua), 3 Dec – Natureland (Tahuna), 10 Dec – Adrienne’s Farm (Appleby), Sun 16 Dec – Christmas Party 10-2pm (Rabbit Island), Mon 17 Dec – To Be Announced, 24 Dec – Mel’s Christmas Eve Pool Party! (Mapua), 31 Dec – TBA New Year’s Eve Morning Tea (maybe at the beach?)
This may change as we are all so flexible and spontaneous. The emergency backup plan is Chipmunks in Nelson if we have bad weather etc. I try to keep the website schedule up-to-date and send everyone on my list a txt on Sunday. Don’t hesitate to call me on Monday morning if you have no idea where we are meeting – 544-2088. Please let me know if you want to be added to the txt list or if you want to be taken off the txt list.

What a great turnout at Julie’s this week! The kids are playing so well together – even when sand is involved.
It will be an adventure at Jester House next week – hopefully the weather will be great and the eels will be out. This is from their website: Once you walk over the trip trop bridge past the tame eels you enter another world. The funtastic café garden is full of art and surprises.
Mel & Grant have invited us all to their house for a Christmas Eve Pool Party on the 24 December! Mel thought 10am – 1pm open home – drop-in type thing for anyone in the group and their families or anyone they have staying with them is also welcome (we may also invite some family and friends).
